StrangerLine respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects all users to do the same. This policy explains how StrangerLine handles copyright infringement claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and under applicable copyright laws in other jurisdictions including the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market and the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
StrangerLine operates as a service provider under the DMCA's safe harbor provisions (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)). This means StrangerLine is not liable for copyright infringement by its users when it:
By responding promptly to valid takedown notices, StrangerLine maintains its protection under these provisions.
Important: Most user content on StrangerLine is transient.
This means that in most cases, media content shared on the platform will no longer be present on our servers by the time a takedown notice is received. If this is the case, we will inform you and take account-level action where appropriate.
If you are a copyright owner, or an agent authorised to act on behalf of one, and you believe that content accessible through StrangerLine infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice.

Upon receipt of a complete, valid notice:
We aim to process valid notices within 5 business days of receipt.
If you are a StrangerLine user whose content was removed in response to a DMCA takedown notice, and you believe the removal was made in error or based on misidentification of your content, you may submit a counter-notice.

StrangerLine takes a strict approach to repeat copyright infringement. Users who receive multiple verified DMCA takedown notices will have their accounts terminated in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A).
For copyright claims from the EU, UK, India, or other jurisdictions that do not operate under the DMCA, please contact us at support@strangerline.io. We will cooperate with valid notices under applicable national copyright laws.
Under the EU Copyright Directive (Article 17), StrangerLine acknowledges obligations regarding infringing user-uploaded content and will process EU-originating notices promptly.
